This blog post brought to you by: My Baby Book

So, hey, it's my birthday today! :)

Since all of us blog mommies are always posting stats on our own children, I thought it'd be fun to bust out my baby book and do a little recap on what Baby Laura was like some 26 years ago.

Shall we?

I was born on March 2, 1986 at 4:56 in the morning. All 9 lbs. 1 oz., 21.5" of me.

At that time, the president was Ronald Reagan.

Popular entertainers were Sylvester Stallone, Stevie Wonder, Prince, and Michael J. Fox.

Popular movies were Rambo and Back to the Future.

Popular TV shows were The Cosby Show, Family Ties, Who's the Boss? and Moonlighting.

Popular fashions and fads? Punk hairdos.

I first smiled at 5 weeks old.

My first real laugh was 2.5 months.

I first slept through the night at about 2 months old, for 3 nights in a row, then I was up again, sleeping through the night at 4.5 months.

At 2.5 months, I rolled over for the first time, belly to back.

I got my first tooth at almost 5 months old.

I sat up for the first time at 6.5 months.

I began crawling at 7 months old.

I started cruising around 9 months old, walking at 10 months old.

My first word was cat at 9 months old.

My first hair cut was at 17 months old...a trim.

At 13 months old, I said: hi, bye, cat, dog, teddy, bear, go, no, bottle (baba), phone (co), sit down, what's that (or this), nose, Tiff (my cousin), push, cup, and sang "Happy Birthday."

My favorite toys were my duckie and bell (that Ethan now plays with at my parents' house). I also loved my books and stackable cups and rings.

I liked the theme song to Family Ties, and at 1 year old, I tried to sing "Jesus Loves Me."

I loved to eat, but at 1 year old, I became very fussy.

My cousin Cody was my favorite playmate.

I was fully toilet trained at 28 months old.

{This picture is TOTALLY my child. I can't help but laugh at the similarities in our expressions.}

How am I celebrating my birthday today?

Spending it with my favorite boy while Jarrod catches up on sleep. (He worked last night.) Then, tonight we are going to a dinner theatre with my parents (my birthday gift from them). I always look forward to that with much anticipation.

Goodbye, 25. It's been fun.

P.S. Today is also my niece, Angelis's birthday. She's 6! Happy Birthday, Angelis, my beautiful little birthday twin. :)
